The coal town of Easington was 'invaded' by police during the miners' strike of 1984, much to the horror and fear of the residents. I have tried to suggest this terror in the face of an 'imagined' nanna type figure in the foreground and suggested the 'invaders' through her window. Actual lace hace been embedded into the encaustic medium for a three dimensional effect.
