Bridging the Coast
Jac Seery Howard
£180
My part of the coast has 'denes', a unique geological feature formed by ice age, melt. These are steep sided wooded valleys untouched by agriculture or architecture. They cause a problem for roads and railways in particular, so viaducts have been installed over the years to help rail transportation - in the early days - of coal exports. This work addresses this feature of the landscape through textile and stitch in an abstract way.
